Maintenance Technician

This position participates in construction on campus by performing a variety of skilled tasks in accordance with standard trades practices. Work involves independent judgment and various degrees of specialization depending on the location of assignment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform skilled tasks in the repair of commercial food service equipment and plumbing.
- Conduct construction, installation, inspection, and repair of plumbing fixtures and service lines and perform HVAC related tasks.
- Perform electrical work, including demolition of existing interior structures.
- Inspect, repair, or replace window hardware and locking mechanisms, window blinds and shades.
- Inspect, repair, or replace ceiling tile, floor tile, and window screens.
- Construct interior walls, floors, windows, doors, and ceilings.
- Lay tile, brick, cinder block, and stone to construct floors, walls, and partitions.
- Inspect, repair, and repainting walls and wall board.
Requires skills in the repair of commercial food service equipment and plumbing. HVAC experience and EPA 608 Certification is highly preferred. If the selected candidate does not have EPA 608 certification, they have one year to obtain this from the date of hire.
Minimum of Education / Training: Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
