The City of Jonesboro is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Deputy Court Clerk in the Municipal Court.

About the Role

As a key member of the Municipal Court team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing payments, and preparing court documents. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work independently will enable you to provide exceptional support to the Judges, Prosecutors, Attorneys, and other agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain court records, including citations, warrants, dispositions, and other related documents
  • Process payments for citations, warrants, restitution, and other authorized payments
  • Prepare court calendars, correspondence, and other documents as required
  • Establish and maintain files, perform routine clerical duties, and use specialized court services databases
  • Remit dispositions to the Department of Driver Services and GCIC's Computerized Criminal History (CCH) database
  • Attend training courses as required and perform related work as needed

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in business administration or two years of court and administrative experience preferred
  • Considerable experience in performing secretarial, clerical, and cash handling tasks or related work
  • Possession of a valid State of Georgia driver's license (Class C) and a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR)
  • Ability to obtain certification as a Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC)/Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Network Terminal Operator within thirty days of employment
