Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Education and Instructional Leadership professional to join our team at Compass Collegiate Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the instructional program in grades K-5, with a focus on academic achievement, student growth, and social-emotional development.

About Compass Collegiate Academy

Compass Collegiate Academy is a public charter school located in Charleston, South Carolina, serving approximately 720 scholars in grades K-8. Our mission is to provide every scholar with the academic foundation and strong habits that inspire and cultivate lifelong learners who lead purposeful, civic lives. Responsibilities and Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing weekly lesson plans and instructional materials that align with state standards and meet the needs of all learners;
  • Leading a daily classroom-based social and emotional learning (SEL) program and integrating SEL lessons into the academic program;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to design and implement a rigorous and engaging curriculum that prepares students for success in middle school and beyond;
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction to meet the needs of individual students;
  • Communicating regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and involve them in the educational process;
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to improve instructional practices and stay current with best practices in education.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in education or a related field; a master's degree is preferred;
  • A valid teaching certification in elementary education or a related field;
  • At least three years of experience as a teacher or instructional leader;
  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional leadership, curriculum design, and assessment and data analysis;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and students.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, the successful candidate will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, parental leave, and a laptop.
