About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Specialist to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless patient experiences by collecting and validating demographic and insurance information, obtaining pre-certification/authorization, and serving as a liaison with patients, physicians, and hospitals regarding financial aspects of services.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate insurance verification and pre-authorization processes by contacting insurance carriers and providing required documentation
  • Work with providers to pre-certify procedures and other necessary evaluations or processes
  • Assist with denial and appeal processes
  • Communicate customer service issues and process improvement opportunities to management and providers
  • Collaborate with others for concise and timely flow of information
  • Maintain stable performance under pressure and handle stress without compromising relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in a similar healthcare role or call center experience

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
