Job Summary

This position performs high-quality ultrasound procedures to aid physicians in diagnosing and treating patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures, and position patients for optimal imaging.
  • Select and utilize appropriate imaging techniques to ensure technical quality of images.
  • Enter and monitor patient data, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Perform quality assurance on ultrasound equipment, maintaining optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Identify and report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
  • Provide emergency coverage within the department, ensuring prompt and effective response to patient needs.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development through mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
  • Support department-based goals, contributing to the success of the organization.
  • Model Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing compassionate, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Sonography Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Registered Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S) or equivalent certification.
