Job Title: Transmission Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Transmission Technician to join our team at Gill Auto Group. As a Transmission Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining manual and automatic transmissions in automobiles, ensuring that all work is completed to dealership and manufacturer quality and time standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs transmission repair as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory time allowances and standards.
  • Diagnoses cause of malfunction and removes and disassembles transmission unit for repair.
  • Examines vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required and communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed.
  • Installs repaired transmission, replaces fluids, and makes appropriate adjustments.
  • Documents work performed and recommended on the repair order and attends manufacturer-sponsored training classes.
  • Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned and reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean and notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.

Requirements:

  • Manufacturer product-specific training.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
