Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Leader to join our team at Christus Health. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities of nursing personnel in patient care units, providing direction to Clinical Staff, and implementing work of assigned units.

Responsibilities

  • Meet the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Organize and oversee patient care delivery during an assigned shift, ensuring proper staffing and smooth operations of a patient care unit.
  • C coach/counsel individual team members; monitor and provide feedback on performance and address training needs.
  • Document daily staffing, operational, and administrative records; maintain compliance with governmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction and support to nursing staff, demonstrating and promoting respect for the dignity and rights of every patient; assist with communications with patients and families.
  • Allocate team resources responsibly and equitably, delegate appropriate levels of responsibility and authority, and provide oversight and guidance.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts among individuals, groups, and departments.

Core Competencies

We value nurses who utilize the Nursing Process to assess the basic physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and development needs of patients and families.

  • Use critical thinking skills to develop and implement a specific plan of care and modify it to meet individual patient needs using evidence-based practice.
  • Evaluate the care and treatment provided to the patient and their response to the care and treatment.
  • Perform timely reassessment and documentation.

Technical Competencies

We are looking for nurses who have strong technical competencies, including clinical policies and standards, health information documentation, medical equipment, and patient chart reading and interpretation.

  • Analyze policy and standards documentation and ensure organizational compliance.
  • Utilize electronic documentation systems to record patient information.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts, identifying any mistakes or omissions.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • At least 2 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
  • BLS certification and RN License in the state of employment or compact.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
