Business Development Executive for Navy and Marine Corps IT

The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to lead the pursuit of new opportunities in the Navy and Marine Corps IT market. This role offers an exceptional chance to contribute to the growth and expansion of Leidos' presence in this vital sector.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing a robust pipeline of qualified business opportunities focused on growth for NMC IT and its primary customers. Your expertise in identifying, shaping, and supporting the development of new business pipelines will drive revenue growth and position Leidos as a leader in the industry.
This position requires a high degree of responsibility, significant customer affinity, and outstanding communication skills. You must be able to multitask, prioritize, and organize against goals and objectives while demonstrating discernment in managing the pipeline against operational, group, and corporate strategies. A deep understanding of customer gaps and underlying Leidos IP to fill those gaps is essential, as is the ability to develop new solutions, processes, and operational plans that position Leidos for positive outcomes in the target marketspace.
You will work closely with Solution Architects and Business Development and Capture teams to develop technical solutions that represent appropriate NMC business architectures in responses to RFIs/RFPs and other customer-facing engagements. Travel will be required on an as-needed basis for customer engagements.
This role demands a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience. You must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with senior executive leadership (internally or client-side), demonstrated through written and oral presentations, development of technical papers, volumes, or similar products.
A proven record of success developing opportunities within the Navy and Marine Corps markets is essential, as is experience in the development of and successful negotiation of teaming agreements. You must be a US Citizen and able to obtain Top Secret clearance. Experience working in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads is also required.
We are seeking a self-starter who can manage time independently without direct supervision and establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, division managers, and peers across Leidos. The ideal candidate possesses business and technical vision, analytical presentation, and problem-solving skills, as well as familiarity with online tools used by the Federal Government for solicitations.
