Michaels is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Creative Event Planner to join our team in Store - PHX-GILBERT/GERMANN, AZ. As an Event Experience Manager, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids' birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests.

About the Role

This role is responsible for delivering friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they're looking for. You will also ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
  • Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
  • Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
  • Communicate events with clients and store team members.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
  • Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs.
  • Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
  • Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
  • Uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. We also offer opportunities for professional growth and development.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You should also have experience working with children and children's events. Additionally, you should have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing excellent customer service. You will be required to stand for long periods of time and move throughout the store. Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching are also required. The physical demands of this role include lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
