We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Code Enforcement/Zoning Officer to join our team at Penn Forest Township.
Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
This is a full-time position that requires a strong understanding of local laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
About the Job:
The Code Enforcement/Zoning Officer will be responsible for conducting field investigations and property inspections to identify violations of local ordinances. This may include visiting properties, gathering evidence, and issuing citations when necessary.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for presenting information and statistics to elected officials and other stakeholders, as well as working closely with other departments and agencies to achieve common goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field investigations and property inspections to identify violations of local ordinances
- Issue citations and take enforcement action when necessary
- Present information and statistics to elected officials and other stakeholders

- Respond to public inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to code enforcement activities
Requirements:
- Equivalent to a high school diploma or higher
- 1-2 years of recent full-time work experience in a related field
- Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Successful completion of ICC-64 Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification within 1 year of employment
- Successful completion of PA Certified Zoning Officer certification within 1 year of employment
