Job Description: Development Director, Public Health Grant Writing

This role supports our Philanthropy team in all grants-related activities, including prospect research, grant monitoring, and compliance. The ideal candidate will learn about and become involved in grant writing and grants management, with the potential to build a small portfolio of institutional donors.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed research on individual and institutional donors, proactively identifying new sources of support to meet department goals.
  • Maintain tracking documents, including records of grant submissions and the grant calendar, to ensure timely submission of proposals and reports.
  • Update donor data in the CRM, ensuring all documents, notes, and files are accurate and accessible.

The Assistant Director must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Exceptional writing and interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to communicate effectively with a high degree of professionalism across multiple departments and diverse stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public or Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in areas relating to public administration and/or healthcare planning and administration, grant writing, and work related to grants management and development within these fields.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, NYC Health + Hospitals offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
