Nurse Practitioner Role in Infusion Centers

Elevance Health is seeking a qualified Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team in El Paso, TX. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in nursing and experience with IVs.
Job Description:
The Family Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing patient care within their scope of practice in the clinical setting. This includes administering ordered therapies, completing admission processes, performing physical assessments, documenting patient data, and communicating effectively with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Administer ordered therapies according to prescriber orders, facility protocols, INS standards, and company policies
- Complete admission processes as directed by the Center Director
- Perform physical assessments on patients as warranted and for new consults
- Refer to the NP on duty for complete physical assessments as needed
- Document all pertinent data in the patient's medical record
- Report significant changes or observations to the Center Director and follow up on any problems identified
- Communicate effectively with other members of the IV team on patient status and observations
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times by abiding by HIPAA laws and regulations
- Evaluate patient response to therapy and document findings in the medical record
- Educate patients and/or family members regarding therapy plans
- Participate in the Quality Improvement program
- Ensure all medication orders are complete, accurate, and up-to-date prior to treatment
- Participate in the On-Call program, which may include after-hours, weekend, and holiday calls and visits
- Provide clinical coverage for nurse practitioners on PTO/LOA and support new market launches
Requirements:
- Requires an MS in Nursing and minimum of 2 years of related experience with clinical emphasis for nurse practitioner
- Minimum of 1 year experience with IVs required
- Current, active, valid, and unrestricted NP license to practice as a healthcare professional within the scope of license in applicable state required
- Requires active, current, and valid Family Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Multi-state licensure is required if this individual is providing services in multiple states
- Satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position and Hepatitis B vaccine or signed waiver
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- May require extensive travel to worksite and other locations as necessary
- Minimum of 1 year healthcare experience with IVs strongly preferred
Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year based on experience and location. This estimate takes into account the requirements of the job, the qualifications of the ideal candidate, and the average salary ranges for similar positions in the area.
