We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a key member of our Respiratory Therapy department, you will provide advanced-level respiratory care to patients, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to diagnose, evaluate, treat, manage, and control deficiencies or abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient respiratory status through physical exam, review of history and physical, and response to ordered therapies.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, communicating with patients, families, physicians, nursing, and support staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Perform a wide range of respiratory care procedures, including advanced settings, and participate in clinical program initiatives and outcomes monitoring.
- Support and implement department or specialty care area projects or programs as identified.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and adjust respiratory care equipment and diagnostic equipment.
- Develop and implement patient education plans related to respiratory disease and equipment.
- Evaluate patient response to interventions through review of achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, and patient and family satisfaction.
- Graduate of a NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program.
- Current State License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Specific certifications as required (i.e., PALS, ACLS, NRP).
