Job Summary

This position involves performing a range of tasks related to the fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of gas, steam, air, refrigeration, or plumbing fixtures, equipment, pipes, fittings, and controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and control primary and secondary multi-story buildings' heating, cooling, and ventilation systems by monitoring and adjusting existing manual, pneumatic, electronic, electric, and computerized control systems.
  • Provide and control heat and cooling to state buildings by the installation, operation, preventative maintenance, and repair of primary and secondary heating and cooling systems.
  • Operate computer and computerized building automation systems to assure a higher state of control of the primary and secondary heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Prevent and control the buildup of scale, corrosion, and fouling in the systems and to promote energy savings, efficient operation, and longer life of primary and secondary heating and cooling systems.
Requirements
  • At least three years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.
  • A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to at least three years.
Working Conditions

This position may be required to respond to building emergencies and weather-related events when necessary.
