**Overview of the Role**

The U.S. Department of the Treasury is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Die Finishing Specialist in our Manufacturing Department.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment and be part of a dynamic team responsible for producing proof coins.

We are looking for an experienced professional who can set up, operate, and maintain automated machine tools to auto-polish dies, perform laser frosting operations, and coat surfaces to meet precise standards.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality results.

**Estimated Salary:** $56,924 - $93,605 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Perform automated and manual die finishing tasks to produce high-quality proof coins.
  • Program and operate computer-controlled polishers to achieve optimal results.
  • Conduct pre-inspections to verify operational parameters and ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Use laser engraving technology to frost and inspect dies, analyzing dimensions and conditions to meet specifications.
  • Manually buff and polish metal surfaces using hand tools or powered equipment.

**Requirements and Qualifications**

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field, such as manufacturing or quality control.
  • Strong knowledge of metals, machine tools, and technical practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
