Blood Collection Specialist

This is a contract job opportunity with potential for permanent placement.
Position Highlights:
- Assist in performing various assigned duties, including troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
- Properly explains the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures to patients.
- Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and labels them correctly.
- Packages specimens for transport and stores them according to required temperature.
- Complies with OSHA and DEP regulations and attends annual department trainings.
Requirements:
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
- Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Pediatrics experience is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED.
