About the Role

We are seeking a part-time Starter/Player Assistant to join our team at Birch Hills Golf Club. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our guests have a memorable experience from start to finish.

Job Description

• Key Responsibilities:
• Greet players at the first tee and throughout the course with a warm and friendly smile.
• Manage starting times efficiently, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all players.
• Maintain a clean and organized first tee area, as well as the surrounding golf course.
• Communicate effectively with our Golf Shop Attendant and Outside Service Staff to ensure seamless service.
• Ensure all golf carts are clean and in good working order before they hit the course.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Operations Manager or Manager on Duty.

Requirements

• Previous work experience, preferably in the golf industry.
• Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.

Physical, Environmental, Cognitive, and Social Requirements

• Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, grasping: stand for long periods, outside weather conditions (hot and cold) and moderate to loud noise level.
• Frequently required to stoop, bend, crouch, and squat climb, kneel, in and out of golf carts, and to twist at the neck and waist, reach above and below shoulder level, push and pull when retrieving, storing and moving golf bags; use dominant hand and fingers to feel and grasp, push and pull and for fine manipulation to document start times and pace of play notes, clean clubs and use two-way radios.
