Activity Therapist Assistant

Rogerson Communities is seeking a skilled and empathetic Activity Therapist Assistant to support our team. As an integral part of our activities department, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing engaging programs that promote resident well-being and socialization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Executive Director to create imaginative and varied activity calendars, ensuring distribution to staff and residents.
- Plan and assist in coordinating weekend activities, taking into account resident preferences and abilities.
- Develop and implement holiday and special events activities, showcasing creativity and attention to detail.
- Directly assist program assistants with activity coordination and implementation, ensuring seamless execution.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation, progress notes, and care plans, adhering to regulatory timelines.
- Support new residents in adjusting to program structure, providing guidance and encouragement to enhance their experience.
- Monitor and report any changes in resident health or mental status to the supervisor.
- Respect resident autonomy while encouraging participation in daily activities.
- Participate in care planning meetings, contributing insights and observations, and following through on established goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma with 2-5 years of experience in activities, recreational therapy, gerontology, or related fields.
- Sensitivity to the needs of disabled and low-income adults and elders.
- Ability to develop and implement therapeutic activity programming.
- Supervisory experience and ability to work cooperatively as a multidisciplinary team member.
Estimated Salary: $42,000 - $52,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
