Job Overview

As a key member of our team at AKF GROUP LLC, the Project Engineer will play a crucial role in developing comprehensive solutions that meet project goals and enhance building performance. This position requires collaboration with a diverse team of engineers to design and document mechanical systems, ensuring optimal system performance and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Documentation: Create essential deliverables, including calculations, drawings, and specifications, adhering to our quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) process.
  • Equipment Selection and Layout: Choose and position mechanical equipment such as pumps, chillers, fans, and boilers, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Project Specifications: Develop detailed project specifications to guide successful implementation.
  • Field Support: Evaluate field conditions as necessary to facilitate project development and completion.
  • Energy Efficiency Enhancement: Apply advanced energy modeling techniques to optimize HVAC systems for energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Code and Standards Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, ensuring safety and compliance.
Collaboration and Client Engagement
  • Attend meetings with architects, owners, and building managers to discuss current and future projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to meet project goals and client objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 4-9 years of MEP design experience preferred.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) certification is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accurate and compliant design documentation.
  • Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and effectively collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player, adept at communicating complex concepts.
