Production Planner

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Planner to join our team at Simpson Strong-Tie. As a key member of our Inventory and Planning Department, you will be responsible for driving the deployment of demand data and strategic initiatives to manage the flow of materials across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, organize, and direct all scheduling activities for the facility, including establishing sequence and lead time of each production operation to meet customer requirements.
• Oversee the generation of work orders and production schedules for the movement of inventory through the production process.
• Investigate production control issues, analyze root causes, and derive solutions.
• Initiate and coordinate inventory and production control improvement activities.
• Develop and manage multiple complex projects targeting process improvements throughout the Inventory and Planning Department.
• Pull reports from SAP, gather and provide detailed data in reports and graphs to management, and identify opportunities for improved production scheduling and days of supply.
• Demonstrate root-cause analysis by analyzing sales trends and changes, finished good and WIP inventory levels, warehouse capacity, and product life cycle bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with sales, production, manufacturing, shipping, inventory control, and purchasing departments in identifying and resolving production planning problems to execute the needs of the business around on-time delivery and cash management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 2 years of experience developing and implementing inventory control/supply chain strategies that ensure supply stability and responsiveness to meet customer requirements for various global markets.
• 2 years of experience with thorough knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• 1 year management or supervisory experience.
• 1 year of lean experience.
