About the Role

This Senior Clinical Coder position involves specializing in inpatient facility coding, utilizing knowledge of Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRG) to ensure accurate coding and pricing determinations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct retrospective medical claims reviews, focusing on diagnosis and procedural coding with DRG assignment.
  • Act as a resource for medical directors, providers, peer reviewers, and claims administration teams.
  • Support non-clinical and clinical staff by sharing insights into coding processes and claims review.
  • Draft and develop detailed determination letters.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for network provider claim review requests.

Requirements

  • Inpatient facility coding expertise, preferably with experience in hospital-specific coding workflows.
  • A strong understanding of DRG coding and its role in hospital billing processes.
  • Certifications such as RHIT or RHIA are preferred but not mandatory if relevant experience is evident.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure coding accuracy is clearly demonstrated.

Compensation and Benefits
