About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Project Engineer III to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a key member of our transportation structures design team, you will be responsible for preparing structural designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation structures, including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures.

Your expertise will be utilized to provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure type analysis evaluations. You will work closely with other design teams and disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a world-class project, the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project, which entails the design and construction of existing bridge improvements and a new bridge crossing of the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Covington, Kentucky.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation structures.
  • Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure type analysis evaluations.
  • Use current engineering design software to ensure efficient and accurate project delivery.
  • Coordinate with other design teams and disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.
  • Identify discrepancies in results.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
Requirements
  • BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Ability to pass MVR check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional engineering-related work environment with heavy emphasis on design of highway bridges.
  • PE licensure.
  • 6+ years of demonstrated ODOT bridge design project work.
  • BS, MS, and 6+ years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard computer software such as OpenRoads and OpenBridge (highly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, develop technical reports, and document client communications.
