Job Title: Hardware Systems DesignerJob Summary:

Nomad GCS is seeking a talented Hardware Systems Designer to join our team. As a Hardware Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware systems that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and design hardware systems that meet customer requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and functionality
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system issues to ensure optimal performance
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform design decisions
Requirements:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong understanding of microcontrollers and electrical engineering principles
  • Proficiency in software development and programming languages such as C, C++, and Python
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan and Analyze:
  • Assess product proposals from internal and external customers to determine feasibility, producibility, costs, delivery time, and production time.

  • Formulate conceptual designs based on proposals to meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinate:
  • Coordinate design, production, testing, and related activities with personnel.

  • Confer with Engineering and IT staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Innovate:
  • Research industry standards and develop new products and procedures that ensure competitive advantages.

  • Recommend product changes or services to better fulfill customer needs for market competitiveness.
  • Build and Assemble:
  • Build and/or modify embedded software for micro-controlled hardware (Modules) and sensors.

  • Assemble and modify existing pieces of equipment and software to meet special needs.
  • Test:
  • Test and verify software to ensure that it meets specifications and requirements, analyzing and recording test data.

  • Document:
  • Create, prepare, and write SOPs and technical manuals that correspond to the developed product.

  • Maintain copies of current and revised software for modules, Sensors and Central Nodes on the Nomad GCS files server.
  • Train:
  • Provide internal and external training and literature for newly developed products and technologies.

  • Support:
  • Provide delivery assistance, technical troubleshooting, product installations, and warranty work on basic projects.

  • Production:
  • Support the production process by creating the logic, testing, and installing the hardware, as required.

Accountabilities:
  • Satisfy the above responsibilities on a quarterly basis. Additionally:
  • Escalate insurmountable roadblocks.
  • System hardware design for future iterations of the NTC platform and related products.
  • Work with software engineers to log all NTC hardware activities and create the necessary logic flows to control NTC features and functions.
  • Timely completion of tasks pursuant to agreed-to Sprint requirements in a high-quality manner.
  • Actively participate in NTC meetings and demonstrate effective communication.
  • Arrival and departure from work within standard office hours and responsive outside of such hours as needed.
