Job Summary:

As an auto body technician, you will be responsible for identifying and performing necessary body repair work in accordance with factory and Collision Center specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine body damage on customer vehicles
  • Identify necessary body repair work
  • Estimate cost of body work
  • Request necessary parts
  • Perform body repairs, including removing damaged body parts and replacing with fixed or new parts
  • Document repairs performed
  • Perform body repairs efficiently and according to Collision Center and insurance company guidelines
  • Maintain CSI at or above Company standards
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area
  • Participate in required training
  • Record all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
  • Follow Safeguards rules and regulations
  • Demonstrate the Company's Core Values
  • Comply with Company policies and procedures
  • Observe all Federal, State, Local, and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable knowledge of body repair methods
  • Collision Center repair training or commensurate experience
  • Ability to operate equipment necessary to perform Collision Center repair functions
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system
  • Ability to learn parts department computer inventory and ordering system
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel
Work Environment:

The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

Duties are performed primarily in the Collision Center. Work includes movement of vehicle body parts, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment.

May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, paint-dust, and other collision center conditions.

Frequently interacts with customers, Estimators, and Collision Center management.
