Homeless Services Advocate at PATH Highland Gardens

PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) is seeking a highly skilled Safety Support Associate to join our Interim Housing team at the Highland Gardens location. As part of this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety and well-being of program participants, staff, and visitors. This includes monitoring site facilities and grounds for any concerns, building rapport with participants to engage them in maintaining safety, and providing assistance and support during crisis situations.
About the Position
The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with others. They will be responsible for coordinating with the onsite case management team to provide support to the interim housing site, conducting regular rounds of the site and facility grounds, and communicating observed discrepancies or concerns. Additionally, they will assist the Associate Director with drafting written documentation and correspondence regarding safety and security matters. This position requires strong collaboration and teamwork skills, as well as effective communication skills to convey information clearly and concisely.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with ensuring overall site safety through observation, de-escalation strategies, and ongoing participant engagement
- Coordinate with the onsite case management team to provide support to the interim housing site
- Conduct regular site and facility ground rounds, communicate and observe discrepancies or concerns
- Assist the Associate Director with drafting written documentation and correspondence regarding safety and security matters
Requirements
- 1 year of experience working with vulnerable populations, security, and/or de-escalation/non-violent crisis intervention
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with others, including participants, staff, and stakeholders
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Benefits and Requirements
This is a part-time position with a salary range of $21.71 to $26.36 per hour, paid biweekly. Reliability transportation is required, as well as a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and vehicle ownership, and the ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage.
