Your Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Lab Scientist to join our team in Laboratory Services. In this role, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, authenticating results, and maintaining quality control standards. You will work under minimal supervision, ensuring accurate and timely test results. Your expertise will be invaluable in facilitating quality patient care outcomes and troubleshooting technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform laboratory tests, authenticate results, and maintain quality control standards according to departmental procedures and regulatory requirements (25%).
- Provide troubleshooting assistance and support to technical staff and vendors to ensure equipment uptime and testing turnaround times (25%).
- Analyze pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical quality control and specimen requirements to ensure accurate results (20%).
- Collaborate with supervisors to troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve quality control issues (15%).
- Assist in teaching, training, and staff development within the laboratory and MLS program (15%).

Requirements

This role requires a Bachelor's Degree and certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology). You should possess excellent communication and customer service skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to prioritize work effectively. Familiarity with regulatory compliance in QC and competency requirements is essential.
