Payroll Manager, Director of Compensation and Benefits

Job Summary:
This leadership role oversees all aspects of the payroll process within Univera Healthcare. The successful candidate will drive process execution to ensure timely and accurate compensation processing in accordance with company policies, accounting standards, and government regulations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the payroll department, ensuring compliance with internal policies, country, state, and Federal laws, and aligning with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
- Oversee all payroll processes, including thorough reviews of payroll audit reports, making corrections as needed.
- Develop and implement improved internal controls, collaborating with the operating team and staff.
- Solve complex payroll operational problems, responding promptly to internal and external inquiries.
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of accounting data, reconciliation of payroll and tax data to the general ledger, and preparation of payroll tax filings and payments.
- Manage annual year-end tasks, W-2 reconciliation, and facilitate audits by providing records and documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll or a combination of payroll, finance, and/or HR-related departments, or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
- Prior experience supervising or managing people and/or projects, strong leadership and managerial skills, proficiency with payroll software, and experience with Workday/HRMS systems.
- Familiarity with multistate and non-resident alien taxation, analytical and problem-solving ability, proficient with MS Office Suite, especially Excel, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position ranges from $78,900 to $146,600 per annum, depending on factors such as prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education. Additional benefits include participation in group health and dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time off, and paid holidays.
