Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Aegis Treatment Centers. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain vital signs and report findings to the nurse as needed.
- Assist with the intake process, ensuring patients are seen promptly.
- Prepare and package urine samples for laboratory testing.
- Make appointments for patients to see physicians and provide lab work and referrals for additional follow-up care.
- Maintain and update medical records and documentation.
- Assist with purchasing and ordering medical supplies.
- Provide education to pregnant patients about prenatal care and assist with coordinating outside services as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current medical assistant certificate from an accredited teaching school and/or transcripts.
- Experience as a medical assistant.
- Ability to administer medications.
- CPR, First Aid, and BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduation from a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Certification from the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
- Two years' experience or knowledge in the field of behavioral health.
