Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at LUKE. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic waived testing, including screening tests and other tests cleared by the FDA.
  • Prepare specimens for transport in accordance with Medical Treatment Facility policy.
  • Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
  • Practice aseptic techniques and comply with infection control guidelines.
  • Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures.
  • Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations and notify supervisor or director as needed.
  • Apply an awareness of legal issues in patient care and manage situations in a reduced risk manner.
  • Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed.
  • Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights.
  • Participate in continuing education to meet professional growth.
  • Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the MTF.
Requirements
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate and be a graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or other formal program approved by the MTF.
  • Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years performing venipunctures and finger-stick on patients from pediatric to geriatric.
  • Hold Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart or American Red Cross.
  • Provide two (2) letters of recommendation written within the last two (2) years attesting to the HCW's clinical skills.
  • Be a U.S. citizen and able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
  • Be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and performing all services.
Work Environment

As a Medical Assistant at LUKE, you will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a team of healthcare professionals. You will be required to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. You must be flexible and able to work with various personalities, and have strong teamwork and time management skills.
