Job Summary

GRAYS ADULT ACTIVITY HOME is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Care Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our residents, including conducting initial assessments, developing individualized care plans, and providing health education to residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments within 14 days of the start date to determine the type of care needed
  • Obtain physician orders for medication and treatment to be administered
  • Develop individualized care plans according to physician orders and participant needs
  • Provide health education to residents and staff
  • Maintain medical records and assess and chart participant behavior, condition, and care rendered daily

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed from the Texas Board of Nursing and practice in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and rules and regulations of the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have current CPR certification and negative TB test
  • Must have two years of full-time work experience in the nursing field working with people with disabilities in a human service or medically related program
