Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to join our team at BlueSky Resource Solutions. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch support for our business-critical applications. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and resolving any technical issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for application-related issues, collaborating with business partners and the IT development team to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Adhere to incident management guidelines as outlined by our IT protocols to ensure timely and effective resolution of service tickets and outages.
  • Triage, prioritize, and escalate service tickets, following up with IT teams to guarantee timely resolution and providing prompt feedback to end-users.
  • Collaborate with staff, senior management, and third-party application support teams across multiple offices to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot issues by running basic SQL queries and analyzing results to identify and resolve problems.
  • Monitor and remediate incoming application issues, providing professional feedback to end-users and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Identify problematic trends and offer suggestions or workarounds to address recurring issues, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our application support processes.
  • Participate in special projects to improve the reliability and performance of our business-critical applications.
  • Stay current with changes and updates to third-party applications to better support our business teams and ensure seamless integration.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the success of our team and organization.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting proprietary application software in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mortgage industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to run and interpret basic SQL queries for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Skilled in identifying irregularities and bugs in applications.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical issues to non-technical users and IT professionals.
  • Attention to detail, with solid problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Able to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Technical aptitude and good judgment for resolving application-related issues.

Education:

  • A four-year college degree or completion of an IT Bootcamp is preferred.
