Staff Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at Alexander Thompson Arnold. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing various tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts & estates.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts & estates
- Become familiar with the Firm's policies and procedures
- Understand the rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA
- Have obtained CPA designation or actively pursuing completion of the CPA exam
- Become familiar with pertinent IRC sections and regulations
- Obtain a working knowledge of research techniques and the various research sources in the firm library
- Become proficient in the preparation of corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary, and other tax returns prepared by the firm
Requirements
- College degree with a major in accounting or other related business field
- 2-4 years of public accounting experience in the area of taxation is preferred
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment
- Some work from home may be available
Equipment and Tools
- Daily use of computer, telephone, copier, scanner, and printer
- Use of multiple tax specific software packages as well as Microsoft products
