The Agent Simulation group at Zoox is seeking talented individuals to play a pivotal role in enhancing agent behaviors, assessing performance, and developing tools to prioritize simulation results.

About the Role

  • You will be instrumental in the development of reliable and validated simulations, utilizing real-world driving data and an exceptional infrastructure for testing and validating your algorithms.
  • Our team is focused on creating diverse and innovative agent behaviors, and your contributions will be crucial in this endeavor.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Implement state-of-the-art machine learning approaches to improve plausible agent behaviors
  • Develop innovative solutions for agent behaviors and simulation analysis
  • Validate machine-learned algorithms against heuristics
  • Leverage our large-scale machine-learning infrastructure to discover new solutions
  • Analyze differences between simulated and real-world behaviors
  • Collaborate with safety and autonomy engineers
  • Design scalable, usable cloud pipelines for machine learning solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience with deep learning model training and deployment
  • Production machine learning pipeline expertise: dataset creation, training frameworks, metrics pipelines
  • Proficiency in Python and basic understanding of C++
  • Fluency with Numpy, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
  • Strong mathematical skills

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), reinforcement learning, imitation learning
  • Prior publications in machine learning or robotics conferences/journals
  • Experience with agent behaviors, prediction, autonomous vehicles, or robotics

Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $134,000 to $222,000. This figure may vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The package also includes Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights.
