Empowering Young Minds: Special Education Teacher (Elementary) Opportunity

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Houston, TX area. This full-time, in-person position for the school year offers a unique chance to build a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where elementary school students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and related service providers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state and national standards.
  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction tailored to the individual learning styles and needs of students with a variety of special needs, including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), emotional/behavioral disabilities, and speech and language impairments.
  • Utilize a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies and differentiated learning approaches to promote academic, social, and emotional growth in your students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters self-confidence, collaboration, and a love for learning.
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data, and adjust instruction accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education for the elementary school age range.
  • Collaborate with parents and families to provide a cohesive and supportive learning experience for students.

Requirements:

  • Texas State Teaching Certification in Special Education (EC-6 or similar).
  • Prior experience working with elementary school students in a special education setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development, special education pedagogy, and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Expertise in differentiating instruction, utilizing assistive technology, and developing positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other school staff.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and maintaining student confidentiality.
  • A passion for inclusion, equity, and advocating for students with diverse learning needs.
