Job Description and Requirements

The Blood Collection Specialist is responsible for ordering lab tests, drawing blood, retrieving lab specimens from throughout the hospital, performing EKG's, clerical duties, and maintaining supplies in draw stations.

This role requires:

  • Moves throughout the facility, assists in emergency drills, and performs physical requirements needed to deliver services as assigned.
  • Performs phlebotomy responsibilities according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with customers and develops a positive perception of the hospital.
  • Follows safety protocols according to established department policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Pomerene Hospital's Values.
  • Delivers service that builds customer satisfaction.
  • Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient.
Education and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School Diploma/GED - Required
  • Phlebotomy Certificate- Preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in Healthcare/Medical - Phlebotomist Preferred
