About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Clarendon Hills, Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform duties in the scrub role as assigned, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.
  • Prepare the surgical field and deliver supplies and instruments to the field, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide a cooperative work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of integrity and accountability.
  • Participate in ongoing professional growth and development, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and best practices in surgical technology.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of scrub experience or equivalent required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist certification required within 3 months of employment.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with exposure to body fluids, waste, and chemicals. On-call availability is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Rotating shifts are also a requirement.

This position requires the ability to move heavy patients and equipment, bend, squat, and kneel as needed, and stand for long periods of time. Flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies are essential.

This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
