We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Restorative Justice Community Court Coordinator to support the daily operations of our Restorative Justice Community Court.

Job Summary:

The Restorative Justice Community Court Coordinator will provide operational and policy support to the judiciary and community court team members. This role requires a strong understanding of restorative justice concepts, evidence-based best practices, and community stakeholders. The Coordinator will work closely with the Community Court team to develop policies and procedures, oversee daily operations, and coordinate interagency and community partnerships.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the court's daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures informed by restorative justice concepts and evidence-based best practices.
  • Coordinate interagency and community partnerships, including law enforcement stakeholders, community groups, and local universities.
  • Manage relationships with community partners, including grant and funding development.
  • Represent the court at meetings of the Cook County Board of Commissioners for contract and budget issues.
  • Consult with problem-solving court staff on securing maximum treatment resources under the Affordable Care Act.
  • Track progress and coordinate logistics of data collection with the Court team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in law, public policy, or a comparable field of study; Juris Doctor or master's level degree preferred.
  • Training and experience in restorative justice, with at least three years of direct experience in project management.
  • Appreciation for the mission and purposes of the Circuit Court of Cook County and the Restorative Justice Community Court.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking ability.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse professionals and provide excellent customer service/support.
