Administrative Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to support our team at All Around Children. As an Administrative Assistant, you will work closely with the Center Director to ensure the efficient operation of our childcare and preschool center.
Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining compliance with state child care licensing guidelines, overseeing daily operations, managing staff scheduling, and contributing to curriculum development and staff training programs.
You will also supervise staff, monitor performance, and provide training to ensure adherence to center standards. Additionally, you will assist in hiring new staff and maintaining staff and children files, act as a role model for classroom expectations and center culture, and foster community growth by promoting the center and increasing enrollment.
As an Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining regular communication with parents, addressing concerns, and keeping them informed of new developments. You will also host center events and provide tours to prospective families, answer phone calls, greet visitors, and respond to inquiries in-person, by phone, by mail, or email.
Requirements for this role include a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent, at least one year of child care experience working in a licensed ODJFS child care program, and proven experience as an assistant director or similar position. You must be energetic, friendly, a team player, organized, and have problem-solving ability and self-motivation.
