Job Title: MEP Superintendent

Turner Construction is seeking a highly skilled MEP Superintendent to lead our Mechanical and Electrical Systems projects in the North Central Region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, managing subcontractors and trade labor, and maintaining the highest level of quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors and trade labor to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Develop and implement recovery strategies to maintain project schedule and budget.
  • Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns, as assigned.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
  • Communicate with owners and architects/engineers in connection with field issues and investigate and resolve such issues.
  • Manage the billing process and oversee the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Coordinate and direct the activities of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, local and national codes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or at least four years of formal engineering or architectural experience and a minimum of six years of mechanical/electrical/plumbing construction experience required.
  • Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Specific knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems, including HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Low Voltage, and Fire Sprinkler systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of building information modeling and its use in coordination of the Mechanical and Electrical systems and other project systems.
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will be required to work on-site at the construction work site, where they will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
