Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist - Patient Transport Specialist coordinates daily activities, including performing examinations and associated clerical duties. This role requires excellent communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff, as well as the ability to stretch, bend, twist, squat, or kneel when operating radiographic equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Escort patients, guests, and visitors to points of destination using ambulatory, beds, cribs, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
  • Possess knowledge and appropriate use of hospital paging system.
  • Use hospital telephone system as it relates to transport tracking to accept transport orders, put jobs in progress, and complete jobs.
  • Assist nursing and various clinical staff with the transferring of patients from bed to transport equipment.
  • Verify registration of outpatients and transport to appropriate departments or clinics.
  • Retrieve, clean, and store all unused patient transport equipment.

Requirements

  • Radiology Tech Program completion in an AMA-approved facility.
  • ARRT registration.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from AHA.
  • Registry eligibility with registry completion within 1 year of hire date.
