About the Role

As a Law Enforcement Professional, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing law enforcement services, including patrolling streets and other public places, investigating crimes, and testifying in court proceedings.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, various agencies, and the general public.
  • Researching and completing special projects, such as policy and municipal ordinance development.
  • Representing the department in community events, meetings, and programs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Colorado P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards and Testing) certification.
  • A Colorado Driver's License.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • CCIC/CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigations) certification, or ability to obtain.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Reside within sixty minutes commuting distance of the Police Station.
Disqualifiers

The following may disqualify you from being a Fort Lupton Police Officer:

  • Conviction of a felony.
  • Conviction of any crime involving domestic violence.
  • Use of marijuana in the past year.
  • Use of illegal drugs in the past 5 years.
  • Conviction of any alcohol, controlled substances, drugs, or other illegal substance-related driving offense within the past 5 years.
  • Arrest, conviction of, or deferred prosecution or deferred judgments for reckless driving within 5 years.
  • Release or discharge from the Armed Forces of the United States under dishonorable conditions.
  • Any history of Brady violations.
