Job Title:

Substance Abuse Counselor - Opioid Treatment Outpatient Program

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Counselor to support patients in our Opioid Treatment Outpatient Program under the supervision of our Behavioral Health Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular patient sessions focusing on strengths, needs, and goals, promoting holistic growth and recovery.
  • Meet productivity and performance metrics, ensuring timely completion of tasks and documentation.
  • Follow agency policies and ethical guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans, acting as a Case Manager and advocate for patient well-being.
  • Lead therapy groups and facilitate engaging discussions, while ensuring timely completion of documentation and record-keeping.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Pursue ongoing training and professional development to maintain CASAC credential and stay updated on best practices.
  • Perform and document toxicology testing, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of patient health.
  • Engage in clinical supervision and collaboration, fostering a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Connect patients with necessary services, performing outreach for lost patients and ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Adhere to established standards and attend scheduled meetings, staying informed and aligned with program objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field, such as Social Work or Counseling.
  • Two years of experience in Human Services, with a focus on Substance Use Disorders and addiction counseling.
  • Valid New York State Certified Addiction Counselor (CASAC) certification, with relevant experience and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
Compensation and Benefits:

This role offers an estimated salary of $$65,000 - $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
