Job Summary

Rimrock Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Behavioral Health Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting patients in their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional, informational, instrumental, and affiliation support services to patients.
  • Assist patients in setting recovery goals and action plans.
  • Connect patients to resources related to recovery, including sober housing, job skills, and education.
  • Complete required documentation, including spreadsheets and progress notes.
  • Assist patients with collateral issues, such as criminal justice and coexisting physical or mental challenges.
  • Encourage education and employment advancement and assist with sober problem solving.
  • Model core recovery values, including tolerance, acceptance, and gratitude.
  • Teach and demonstrate appropriate self-expression and self-reflection.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of recovery experience.
  • Completion of a state-approved Peer Support Training Program and certification.
  • One hour of clinical supervision for every twenty hours worked.
  • Twenty continuing education credits per year related to SUD or mental health services.
