Medical Care Specialist

Overview
The Medical Care Specialist serves as a vital member of the healthcare team by establishing a personalized relationship with patients and their support systems. This professional collaborates with other team members to provide care that promotes optimal health, utilizing the best scientific evidence, protocols, and compassion to assist patients during their health journey.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care, prioritizing their needs and changing acuity levels.
- Administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and transport patients via wheelchair, hospital bed, or stretcher to other departments.
- Assess and interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to their age, health, and developmental needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- 2 years of experience required for Emergency Departments and Critical Care Transport, 3 years of experience required for Event Medicine.
- Paramedic Certification or Degree, required.
- National Registry for Critical Care Transport or an educational agreement to obtain National Registry within 18 months of hire, required.
- NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments, required.
- Current driver's license in appropriate state for Critical Care Transport Departments, required.
