Chief Development Officer

At Leap Brands, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Development Officer to drive the growth and expansion of our franchise system. This is a critical role that will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Franchise Development Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive growth plan to expand our franchise network nationally and internationally, identifying new markets and opportunities for franchise growth.
  • Franchise Recruitment: Oversee franchise recruitment efforts, including the identification, vetting, and onboarding of prospective franchisees, and develop effective marketing and lead generation strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Partnership Building: Cultivate relationships with prospective franchisees, industry partners, and key stakeholders to support the growth and success of our franchise system.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve the franchise development process, ensuring it is efficient, scalable, and aligned with our company's goals.
  • Compliance and Legal Oversight: Ensure all franchise development activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including franchise disclosure documentation (FDD) and franchise agreements.
  • Franchisee Support: Collaborate with the operations team to ensure new franchisees receive the necessary training and support to launch and grow their businesses.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and potential barriers to entry in key markets, using data-driven insights to inform expansion strategies.
  • Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Manage the franchise development budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and financial targets are met.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, operations, and legal teams to ensure a cohesive approach to franchise development and maintain consistency across the franchise system.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in franchise development, business development, or growth strategy in a franchising environment.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage development teams, as well as cross-functional teams, to achieve ambitious growth goals.
  • Sales and Marketing Acumen: Strong understanding of franchise recruitment, sales processes, and lead generation techniques.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute long-term growth strategies and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with franchise laws, franchise agreements, and the franchise disclosure process.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial management related to franchise growth and development.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Networking: Ability to build strong relationships with franchisees, industry leaders, and other key stakeholders.
