Strategic Philanthropy and Engagement Director

Lourdes University, rooted in Catholic and Franciscan traditions, offers a values-centered education that fosters academic excellence through the integration of liberal arts and professional studies.
As a key member of the Advancement team, the Strategic Philanthropy and Engagement Director develops and implements programs to engage alumni and friends, cultivating a culture of volunteerism and philanthropy. This role is responsible for increasing annual giving and strengthening ties between Lourdes University and its constituency.
The Director will lead the growth of the annual fund by improving existing programs and applying best practices. They will also work closely with colleagues to create and implement alumni communications, including digital and social media initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and innovate a comprehensive annual giving and alumni engagement strategy
- Create and refine an event portfolio to support annual support, student recruitment, and overall engagement
- Lead efforts to increase leadership annual support through the Lourdes Society
- Collaborate with the development team to develop pathways for leadership annual fund donors to major and planned gifts
- Oversee the development and implementation of annual fund outreach through various channels, including direct mail, electronic solicitations, social media, and giving day
- Develop thematic messaging to engage alumni and deliver this messaging through approved channels
- Ensure assigned prospects are personally solicited for the annual fund each year as appropriate
- Plan and implement strategic events that engage alumni and friends in support of University goals
- Serve as staff liaison to the Lourdes University Alumni Association Board and its committees
- Partner with the Office of Communications and Marketing to develop and manage alumni and donor communications
- Develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan for alumni giving, outreach, and engagement

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum two years' experience in annual giving and constituent relations, preferably in higher education
