Job Overview

The Arkansas Hospice, Inc. is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Care Specialist to provide high-quality care to our patients with complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized patient care according to the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care (IPC) in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Evaluate patient needs, develop, and implement personalized care plans to ensure optimal comfort and quality of life.
  • Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on disease management, medication use, and symptom control.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, share knowledge, and address concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an approved program of practical nursing or higher degree.
  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Minimum one year of nursing experience, preferably in hospice or home health care.
  • Valid Arkansas driver's license, personal automobile, and automobile insurance.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of palliative care principles, symptom management, and oncology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Skilled in organizing workloads, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
This role is designated as safety sensitive due to the handling of confidential information, performing life-threatening procedures, and working with controlled substances.
