Job Title: Server - No Late Evenings

At Thrive Senior Living, we are seeking a skilled and friendly Server to join our team. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences to our residents and guests in a warm and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Take meal and beverage orders and serve requested items according to established guidelines
  • Assist residents with menu selections and respond to pertinent questions about menu items
  • Respond to the dining needs of residents and guests while maintaining Thrive hospitality and service standards
  • Attend pre-meal briefings to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities
  • Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards
  • Perform dining room set-up and reset of tables in accordance with dining room procedures
  • Support the dining room decorum and etiquette standards
  • Perform and complete opening and closing checklist criteria
  • Perform and complete side work duties as assigned
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information at all times
  • Practice safe food handling at all times to prevent an outbreak of foodborne illness
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments
  • Maintain all work areas in a healthful and safe condition
  • Assist in dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization, and supplies placement
  • Partner with community team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations
  • Practice safety procedures at all times, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), and Lockout Tagout procedures
  • Actively participate as a member of a team and committed to working toward team goals
  • Demonstrate in daily interactions with others, our Team Member Credo
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in dining hospitality and/or full service senior living preferred
  • Problem-solving skills, including identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner
  • Customer service skills, including managing difficult or emotional resident, family member, and employee situations
  • Interpersonal skills, including focusing on solving conflict and not blaming
  • Oral communication skills, including speaking clearly and persuasively
  • Teamwork skills, including balancing team and individual responsibilities
  • Planning and time utilization skills, including consistently planning/ coordinating work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Written skills, including writing clearly and informatively
Physical Strength Required:

Frequent body movements include lifting, moving, transferring, bending (static forward bending), stooping/squatting, and reaching. Able to do heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted with twisting and turning of trunk. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
