Our California-based team is currently recruiting for Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to work as behavior coaches, focusing on skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans with family members, caregivers, and agency staff. The RBT will assist families and providers in building capacity by training them on data collection, certain types of assessments, and monitoring of Behavior Support Plans.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide face-to-face or virtual coaching and training with Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
  • Assist agency staff in developing, implementing, and monitoring Behavior Support Plans, including coaching on data collection and fidelity checks
  • Work with DSPs and their supervisors to ensure all necessary materials and supplies are available for plan implementation
  • Present graphical summaries of BSP effectiveness to DSPs during meetings
  • Model positive behavioral supports and respond to emergency situations as trained
  • Complete Functional Behavioral Assessment Interviews and/or Observations, assigned by BCBA or Director
  • Participate in provider wraparound or consultation meetings, reporting assessment results and offering recommendations
  • Provide crisis de-escalation support to teams as required
  • Complete documentation as expected in a timely manner
  • Fulfill supervisory requirements according to BACB standards
  • Collaborate with and regularly update Director and other team members on individual and provider support activities
  • Attend all agency, departmental, and client-specific meetings as directed
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to supervisor or department head
  • Comply with all organization standards for health, safety, and confidentiality

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer usage
  • Ability to train others
  • Skills in behavioral assessments and behavior plan development

Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years old
  • Bachelor's degree in a human or social services field
  • Registered Behavior Technician certification in California
  • Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with IDD and/or BH diagnoses
  • Valid BLS CPR and Basic First Aid certification
  • Crisis de-escalation verbal skills and physical management training certificate
  • Maintain valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • Computer literacy

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
