Physical Education Professor

We are seeking a student-centered part-time professor to join our Physical Education faculty team. This position will include responsibility for the development, preparation, and delivery of courses within the physical education department at Tacoma Community College.
About the Job
The successful candidate will teach various physical education courses, including Total Fitness, Fast Fitness, Independent Fitness Lab, Advanced First Aid, Coaching Theory, Weight Training, Toning, Health & Wellness, Badminton/Pickleball, Softball, Hiking, Volleyball, Walking, and Bowling. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in a community college setting and be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and staff representing diverse ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, and learning abilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field from an accredited college or university and two years of related work experience and/or related current teaching experience in Physical Education. A Master's degree in Physical Education or a relevant field is preferred. Experience teaching at a community college and using online classroom platforms as a classroom support and learning tool are also highly desirable.

Part-time faculty may become eligible for healthcare and retirement benefits after completing one year of half-time or more employment at one or more Washington state institutions of higher education.

Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, based on education level and experience.
